New tech v.s. Fundamentals

Learning things like how to multi-shine, shield drop and, perfect ledge dash can be really helpful at a certain level of play, however these AT's won't help much if you're missing a strong fundamental game. The fundamentals in smash are usually over looked by newer players which is something that should change if people want to get better quicker.

If you're missing wave dashes, wave lands, l-cancles and, dash dances then having some advanced tech won't win you sets.In Wife's Book, he outlines a pretty cool training regimen that has a lot of focus on increasing your consistency with fundamentals. First you do short hop l-cancel aerials, each of your five, 100 times. If you miss one then you start that set over, do this until you don't miss l-cancels anymore. Next Wife chooses FD and dash dances from one side to the other for 5 minutes, restarting if he goes into the run animation. Personally I add in a lot of movement options to practice but he's got the core covered. The numbers in the regimen are arbitrary, just choose a number that is relevant to your skill level and will challenge you.
